The Jefferson Parish Community Development
Department administers the entitlement grants received from the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These grants
are:
1. Community Development Block Grant
Program (CDBG) - provides funds
to support the development of viable urban
communities through decent housing, and expanding the economic
opportunities of persons of low and moderate-income.
2. HOME Investment Partnerships Program
(HOME) - provides funds to
expand the supply of safe, decent, and
affordable housing for low-income Americans, such as the First-Time
Homebuyer Assistance and Housing Rehab programs.
3. Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG)
- provides funds for emergency
shelters for the homeless and other
programs to prevent homelessness.
