The Community Justice Agency (CJA) manages the criminal justice programs for adults and juveniles in Jefferson Parish -- resulting in more efficient operation of existing services, development of new programs and better coordination of services aimed at reducing crime in our community and providing more focused programs to help adult criminals and juvenile offenders change their life styles & avoid future criminal activity.
The CJA works with the 24th Judicial District Courts, Juvenile Court, 1st & 2nd Parish Courts; Sheriff's Office; District Attorney's Office; Clerk of Court; Coroner; Parish Health Agencies; Juvenile Services; Juvenile Detention; Adult Prisons, & police departments in Gretna, Harahan, Kenner, Lafitte, Grand Isle and Westwego to better coordinate crime prevention.
CJA is also responsible for developing a criminal justice master plan to help all these agencies achieve the goal of more economic, broad based criminal justice management AND a safer community.
