The Department of Workforce Connection is the administrative entity of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. This is a one-stop destination for employers and job seekers in Jefferson Parish and provides multiple programs to help its members successfully obtain their workforce needs of the 21st century. We provide employers access to the most qualified workforce while giving the workers of this region centralized resources for improving their job skills, developing new career paths, and locating the best opportunities our region has to offer.

 

The Jefferson LA Works Business and Career Solutions Centers are demand-driven to help the needs of businesses. The centers are a part of the Local Workforce Investment area's outreach to help residents of Jefferson Parish find jobs to obtain a better quality of life. We also help businesses develop a diverse workforce to be competitive in the global economy. Our centers are open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age 14 - 21

  • Low income (WIA sec 101[13])

  • One or more apply
    - Deficient in basic literacy skills
    - School Drop out
    - Homeless, runaway or foster child
    - Pregnant or parenting
    - Offender
    - Is an individual (including a youth with a disability) who requires
      additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure
      employment
