The Jefferson Parish East Bank Consolidated Fire Department is a 200 member full time paid fire department. The members work three shifts consisting of 24 hours on duty 24 hours off duty for five rotations then six days off. The department is overseen by the
Director of Fire Services. Civil Service is governed by the Jefferson Parish
State Civil Service Board.

Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.) Licensing

The sub-department of E.M.S. is responsible for the proper licensing of
all the factors that comprise an emergency medical services system
including ambulance companies, their vehicles and all their personnel.
This office is also responsible for regulatory authority of Non-Emergency
Medical Transportation (licenses, vehicles and personnel).
The E.M.S. Program Compliance Specialist oversees compliance with federal,
state, and local laws pertaining to E.M.S and Non-Emergency Medical
Transportation.
