Question:
What is the difference between the Comprehensive Land Use and
Transportation Plan and the Zoning Ordinance?
|
|
Answer:
The Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan generally guides
land use decisions by defining the goals and policies the citizens

Question:
How can I get involved in developing the plan?
|
|
Answer:
We want all citizens that are interested to participate in this
planning process. In the early stages of Plan development, over
160 citizens attended Planning District Workshops to voice the issues
they believed were most important to future growth and development
in Jefferson Parish. As the planning process moved into the Element
Committee phase, 112 citizens volunteered to be members of this
important Plan-writing group. In early 2003, multiple public hearings
will be held to present the Plan to the citizens. These meetings
will be announced in the Plan newsletter and public journals to
afford you the opportunity to review the plan and comment on it.
In the interim, please keep informed by visiting this web site often
to keep abreast of available reports and presentations.
