Jefferson Parish's Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) serves eligible persons who, because of the COVID-19 emergency, are past due on rent and lack sufficient income or resources to become current.

The purpose of ERAP is to assist very low - to low-income families and individuals who, due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, are suffering a temporary financial setback and now need help with delinquent residential rent. ERAP may serve to assist renters who have been unable to pay rent during the moratorium period. Funding for this program has been allocated to Jefferson Parish through the Treasury Department CARES Act. 

Applicants can apply online by completing our fillable application which will be submitted electronically.

ERAP can cover rental arrears dating back to as early as April 1, 2020, for up to 15 months and forward rent for up to 3 months (15 months total).

Acerca del Programa

El Programa de Asistencia de Alquiler de Emergencia de la Parroquia de Jefferson (ERAP) atiende a las personas elegibles que, debido a la emergencia COVID-19, están atrasados en el alquiler y carecen de ingresos o recursos suficientes para ponerse al día.

El propósito del ERAP es mitigar y ayudar a las familias e individuos de muy bajos a bajos ingresos que están sufriendo un retraso financiero temporal debido a la emergencia de salud pública del COVID-19 y que necesitan ayuda con el alquiler residencial en retraso. El ERAP puede servir para ayudar a los inquilinos que no han podido pagar el alquiler durante el periodo de moratoria. Los fondos para este Programa han sido asignados a Jefferson Parish a través de la Ley CARES del Departamento del Tesoro.

Los solicitantes pueden llenar los documentos vinculados y traer su solicitud completa a uno de los tres lugares:

ERAP puede cubrir los atrasos de alquiler que se remontan al 1 de abril de 2020 hasta 12 meses y adelantar el alquiler hasta 3 meses.
