Mortgage Delinquency / Default Counseling
JeffCAP Housing Program provides one-on-one counseling to those seeking to avoid foreclosure or access alternative housing to prevent homelessness. As part of President Obama's comprehensive Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan (HASP), you may be eligible for a special "Making Home Affordable" loan modification or for refinancing to reduce your monthly payments and help you keep your home.
Mortgage delinquency /mortgage default counseling includes an analysis of the client's financial situation to determine the options available to remedy the delinquency/default. Budget counseling and all mortgage documents are required to assist the client in maximizing his or her available resources. When the budget is determined, the counselor discusses all feasible options for the client to make a well-informed decision on how to avoid foreclosure. All clients must prove owner occupancy.
If you are eligible for the loan modification or refinance program, a JeffCAP Housing Counselor will work with you to compile an intake package for your servicer.
Reverse Mortgage Counseling
JeffCAP Housing Program provides homeowners with impartial education about reverse mortgages for clients age 62 and older. Reverse mortgage counseling is a mandatory part of the reverse mortgage application process. It is typically completed just after completing an application for a reverse mortgage.
