BUCKTOWN BOARDWALK REOPENS AFTER HURRICANE DAMAGE

JEFFERSON, LA – The Bucktown Harbor Boardwalk is open again! The temporary closure of the boardwalk was necessary to repair damage sustained during Hurricane Zeta.

Located over the levee from 325 Metairie Hammond Highway, the Boardwalk is open for the public to enjoy from dawn to dusk daily. Please observe all posted rules at both entrances of the boardwalk. This wetland boardwalk was completed in March 2020 to better connect and educate residents about Lake Pontchartrain, our levee system, as well as the plants and birds native to our wetland habitat.

For more information on Bucktown Harbor, please contact the Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department at 504-349-5000 or the office of Councilwoman Van Vrancken at 504-736-6634.
