COUNCILMAN BYRON L. LEE TO HOST SENIOR LUNCHEON
AT THE ALARIO CENTER ON TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2022

JEFFERSON, LA – Councilman Byron L. Lee (District 3) will host a Senior Luncheon on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Alario Center, 2000 Segnette Blvd. Westwego, LA 70094. The purpose of this free event is to celebrate all Jefferson Parish seniors by providing free lunch and opportunity to win gifts thanks to participating sponsors.

“I started this annual luncheon 18 years ago to honor the seniors in my District and it has grown into a tremendous success. We paused the past two years due to COVID since it brings together our most vulnerable population in the Parish; however, I am thrilled to bring it back this year because many of our residents now need access to resources more than ever,” said Councilman Lee. “Seniors make up a very integral part of our Parish community and so we have many opportunities to keep them engaged, informed and equipped. I look forward to seeing and honoring all the elders of our community at the Senior Luncheon and would also like to thank all our partners for helping us put together this very special event.”

The Senior Luncheon program will include free lunch and available information and resources from participating Jefferson Parish departments, including the Jefferson Parish Community Development Department and the Jefferson Parish Community Action Program (JeffCAP). Many partner organizations that serve the senior population are sponsoring this event by providing prizes and will also be in attendance with available resources and information, including the Jefferson Parish Council on Aging, JenCare, Peoples Health, Ochsner Health, Our Community Health, InclusivCare, Acidom Medical Service, Audubon Care House, JBL Therapeutic Center, Avondale Fire Department and Kenner Community Development.

This event is free and open to all Jefferson Parish seniors to attend. For questions, please contact Councilman Lee’s office at 504-736-6591 or 504-364-2603.
