JEFFERSON PARISH COUNCILMAN BYRON L. LEE DEDICATES
THE WILLIE HARRIS, SR. MEMORIAL TOT LOT
MARRERO, LA – Councilman Byron L. Lee announced the dedication of the Willie Harris, Sr. Memorial Tot Lot Project, with a cost of $49,999.00. This project included converting vacant land into a tot lot for residents in the Haydel Manor subdivision to enjoy.
Willie Harris, Sr. was a mentor to children in the Haydel Manor subdivision. The fond memories of him encouraged the community to have the tot lot named in his honor. This project consisted of clearing vacant land, install new fencing, sidewalks, benches, and security lighting.
“I am honored to be able to dedicate the tot lot in memory of Mr. Willie Harris, Sr., who was so instrumental in the lives of many children in the neighborhood.” said Councilman Byron L. Lee. “I am always excited to see additional recreational space developed in our communities to promote family fun. The residents of Haydel Manor now have a much-needed place to enjoy healthy, happy and safe play with their children and neighboring families.”
The dedication ceremony took place at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 6170 August Avenue in Marrero. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the full ceremony.
