JEFFERSON PARISH COUNCILMAN BYRON L. LEE HOSTS A RIBBON CUTTING
FOR THE OPENING OF MANHATTAN BLVD. SOUTHBOUND RIGHT TURN LANE EXTENSION

JEFFERSON, LA – Councilman Byron L. Lee and Jefferson Parish officials hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Public Works Project No. 2017-053-RBP, Manhattan Boulevard Southbound Right Turn Lane Extension to Westbound Lapalco Boulevard.

“This is merely the commencement of more projects to come to Manhattan Boulevard and District 3 as a whole,” said Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee. “Improving our roads, bridges, and other physical assets greatly influence our Parish’s ability to function and grow. Providing our residents with a high-quality infrastructure remains one of my top priorities, and I will continue to look for ways to strengthen our neighborhoods where we work and live.”

Construction began February 3, 2020 and was completed on June 30, 2020. The final project cost $114,951.00, with funds provided by the Road Bond Program. This project extended the existing asphalt right turn lane to just south of 12th Street. In addition, the project included modifications to drainage, reconstruction of driveways, sidewalks, and handicap ramps and the relocation of a bus stop.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 1556 Lapalco Boulevard in Harvey. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the full ceremony.
