JEFFERSON PARISH INTRODUCES FIRST-EVER COMMUNITY HEALTH ASSESSMENT

JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish officials are embarking on the first-ever Community Health Assessment. Individuals are encouraged to complete a 10-minute online survey, which will be used by both the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and Jefferson Parish to determine health priorities for residents.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has provided us with an opportunity to examine the health of our community,” said Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng. “I encourage all residents to fill out this quick survey, which will help guide us on ways to better invest in public health moving forward.”

The year-long community health assessment process will be led by CAA Sarah Babcock. She will work to convene a large number of community partners and stakeholders to complete the assessment. The assessment will look at both qualitative and quantitative health data to help determine public health priorities. It will be completed in coordination with LDH who is also currently completing their five-year state health assessment.
