Drop-Off Site Instructions


NOTICE FOR BOTH RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS:

All citizens using the drop-off site will be asked to provide a driver’s license or water bill to verify residence before their waste will be accepted.

Site managers may direct contractors and residents to the Landfill for disposal depending on space constraints and the size of the vehicle. Vehicles hauling trailers will be directed to an area landfill. These sites cannot accommodate dump trailers. 

FEES:

Trash drop-off services are provided for free to residents of the unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish who receive curbside collection of garbage by the Parish (Terrytown, Harvey, Marrero, Waggaman, Avondale, Bridge City, Metairie, Jefferson and River Ridge) and the town of Jean Lafitte. The fee for Jefferson Parish municipalities other than Lafitte (Kenner, Gretna, Westwego, Harahan, Grand Isle) and for all commercial users is:

                   $14 for pick-up trucks                     $20 for trailers

Cash will no longer be accepted. Payment for fees will have to be paid by credit or debit card.

RESIDENTIAL WASTE ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURES: 

  • Residents of unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish are limited to 2 visits per day. Residents of Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner are allowed to utilize the sites for a fee*.
  • Self-Service: Residents are reminded that these sites are self-service. Debris must be manually unloaded into roll-off containers.
  • Special Placement: Loads originating from residents of Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner must be deposited in containers labeled for municipal loads.

  • *Passenger Tires, Auto Fluids, (Electronic) E-Waste, Batteries, and Waste Cooking Oil: The Metairie and Marrero sites accept passenger tires, automotive fluids, oil filters, automotive batteries, and waste cooking oil for recycling. All residents of Jefferson Parish, including Terrytown, Harvey, Marrero, Waggaman, Avondale, Bridge City, Metairie, Jefferson, River Ridge, Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner may recycle these items free of charge.

  • Passenger Tires, Auto Fluids, (Electronic) E-Waste, Batteries, and Waste Cooking Oil: Commercial users may not dispose of these items at Parish drop-off sites.
