JEFFERSON PARISH RESUMES REGULARLY SCHEDULED IN-PERSON COUNCIL MEETINGS EFFECTIVE ON JUNE 3, 2020

Council Meetings still viewable on JPTV, Jefferson Parish Website and Jefferson Parish Facebook

JEFFERSON, LA – The next Jefferson Parish council meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., will take place in-person at the Joseph Yenni Building (1221 Elmwood Park, Blvd, Elmwood, LA 70123).

For residents planning to attend the upcoming Jefferson Parish council meeting, the following will be required due to COVID-19 precautious and the health and safety of all employees and visitors:

  • Everyone will be required to undergo a temperature screening prior to entering the building. All that do not meet the temperature screening protocol, with a fever of 100.0 or higher, will not be allowed entry.
  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask or cloth face covering when entering the building and while in the Council Chambers. Anyone not wearing a mask or face covering will not be allowed entry, will be asked to put one on or asked to leave.
  • There will be seating restrictions inside the Council Chambers to practice safe social distancing (6-ft space between seats). Floor decals will be placed in the aisle for those speaking to make sure all maintain proper social distancing. The Council Chambers will be retrofitted with Plexiglass dividers in certain areas to also help protect those in attendance.
  • The Personnel Board Room and Testing Room across from the Chambers will be used for public seating overflow, as needed. JPSO will be onsite to escort individuals from the overflow rooms to the Chambers for public comment.

All Jefferson Parish council meetings will still be viewable on JPTV (Channel 6 on Cox and Channel 99 on AT&T Uverse), Jefferson Parish website at www.JeffParish.tv/live and Jefferson Parish Facebook page at www.facebook.com/JeffersonParishGov/. Those wishing to make public comments remotely will be able to do so by email (those instructions will be made available on Monday, June 1, 2020).
