JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES
ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 AND FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2023

JEFFERSON, LA – Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22, 2023, over portions of Harahan, River Ridge, Kenner, Westwego, Avondale, Waggaman, Lafitte/Barataria, and Crown Point, weather conditions permitting.

Low-level aerial spraying will take place from 7 to 12 p.m. If weather conditions force the cancellation of the scheduled flights, aerial spraying will take place on the first subsequent evening on which weather conditions permit.

AREA #1: Avondale/Waggaman
North to Mississippi River; South to Marsh below Nicole St. and Hwy. 90; East to TPC Golf Course; West to Jefferson/St. Charles Line

AREA #2: Westwego/Bridge City
North to Mississippi River; South to Lapalco Blvd.; West to Hwy. 90; East to Louisiana St.

AREA #3: River Ridge/Harahan
North to Airline Hwy.; South to Mississippi River; East to Hickory St.; West to Filmore St.

AREA #4: Kenner
North to Lake Pontchartrain; South to Mississippi River; West to St. Charles Parish Line; East to Roosevelt Ave. (excludes MSY Airport)

AREA #5: Lafitte/Barataria/Crown Point

• North to Fleming Curve near Palmetto St.; South to end of Jean Lafitte near Kenal Road/Orange Ave.; East to Marsh; West to Marsh.
• All of the town of Crown Point extending into the wooded area surrounding the town.
• North to north of Barataria Blvd.; South to south of Jean Lafitte Blvd.; West to west of Leo Kerner Parkway; East to east of Sharpe Rd.
