JEFFERSON PARISH TRANSIT PARTNERS WITH TOYS FOR TOTS FOR A “GET-MOVING” TOY-DRIVE
Residents encouraged to join Jefferson Parish Transit and Toys for Tots in bringing joy on wheels to the community

JEFFERSON, LA – This holiday season, Jefferson Parish Transit is joining forces with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, introducing the "Get-moving" toy-drive.

“We're on a mission to bring smiles and activity to our local children,” said Jefferson Parish Transit Director Ninette Barrios. “Let's unite to get our kids moving this Christmas! We are asking residents to help us make a difference and consider donating anything on wheels or toys that promote activity, like rollerblades, bikes, strollers, hula-hoops or sports items.”

Jefferson Parish Transit will collect items for the “Get-moving” toy drive from Friday, December 1, 2023 through Monday, December 18, 2023. Residents can drop off their donations Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jefferson Transit Administration Building, located at 21 Westbank Expressway in Harvey, LA, or at the 40-foot donation bus that will be located at Veterans Memorial Square, just across from Lakeside Mall at 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie.

Established in 1947, Toys for Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps' premiere community action program and America's most popular Children's Christmastime Charity. To date, the Marine Toys for Tots program has distributed 652 million toys to 291 million children. For more information, visit www.toysfortots.org.
