UPDATE ON JEFFERSON PARISH LIBRARIES
Grand Isle, Lafitte & Westwego Closed
JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish Library locations are open today at normal operating hours except the following:
- Grand Isle - 143 Ludwig Lane, Grand Isle, LA 70358
- Lafitte - 4917 City Park Drive, Lafitte, LA 70067
- Westwego - 635 Fourth Street, Westwego, LA 70094
Please note that there is no computer connectivity at the Gretna and Live Oak locations; however, all other branches have internet. For more information about the Jefferson Parish Library System and to keep up as information changes, visit www.JPlibrary.net or contact the library at (504) 838-1100.
The Jefferson Parish Library system consists of 16 locations that stretch from the Lakeshore Branch on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain to the Grand Isle Branch just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. The library system consists of two large regional libraries and seven branches on each side of the Mississippi River. The East Bank Regional Library (4747 West Napoleon Avenue, Metairie) serves as library headquarters. The Jefferson Parish Library is the second largest system in the state of Louisiana. More than 200 employees work for the Jefferson Parish Library including librarians, administration and support staff.
