FREE DAILY COVID-19 TESTING AVAILABLE AT DELTA PLAYGROUND & BONNABEL BOAT LAUNCH

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting Wednesday, August 25, 2021, free drive-thru COVID-19 testing will be available at Delta Playground (8301 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA 70003) and Bonnabel Boat Launch (1599 Bonnabel Blvd. Metairie, LA 70005). These sites will be open daily Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Johnny Bright Playground continues to offer daily drive-thru COVID-19 testing as well during the same hours. All of these sites are operated by Accu Reference Lab. Please bring a photo ID and health insurance card, if applicable. To pre-register or view results, visit www.accuref.us.

Regular drive-thru testing at the Alario Center (2000 Segnette Blvd. Westwego, LA 70094) is also available, in addition to walk-up vaccinations at this location every Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Register in-person or online for testing at the Alario Center at Health.QuestDiagnostics.com/STLOU.

Everyone 12 and older is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Louisiana (Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for people ages 12-17). All COVID-19 vaccines are free and individuals do not need to provide identification or health insurance information to get vaccinated. The Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have received emergency use authorization from the FDA. They are safe and effective at preventing illness from COVID-19. Third dose boosters have been approved for anyone that is moderately to severely immunocompromised. Only Moderna and Pfizer vaccines can be used as boosters and individuals should receive the same vaccine as their first and second doses. All vaccination sites listed on COVID.JeffParish.net offer boosters. Individuals must complete an attestation form at the vaccination site stating that they have one of the following conditions:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection
  • Action treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune system
