Curbside Collection Guidelines


Residential Curbside Collection: Curbside collection of Solid Waste is provided to residential structures containing four (4) units or less. Residential structures with greater than four (4) units may be included on a case-by-case basis, with written approval by the Director of the Department of Environmental Affairs. Each unit is entitled to 1 new garbage cart free of charge. Additional carts may be purchased. Disabled residents may request “side door” service.

Garbage/Trash:

  • All household garbage shall be bagged and placed within the tipper cart provided by the Parish. Additional carts can be purchased.
  • Carts are emptied twice per week on your scheduled days.
  • Garbage carts may not be placed out for collection any sooner than 4:00 p.m. on the day preceding your regular collection day. Emptied containers must be removed from the curb by noon on the day immediately following the collection day. 

Bulky waste, Tires and White Goods are collected once per week on your scheduled day.

Small Business Curbside Collection: Curbside collection of garbage is provided to small businesses who meet the limits described below.  Each unit is entitled to 1 new garbage cart free of charge. One additional cart may be purchased. Collection of bulky items, tires and white goods is not provided to commercial units.

Garbage/Trash:

  • All waste must be containerized within the tipper carts provided by the Parish.
  • Small businesses are limited to 2 carts per unit.
  • Carts are emptied 2 x per week on your scheduled days.
  • Carts may not be placed out for collection any sooner than 4:00 p.m. on the day preceding your regular collection day. Emptied containers must be removed from the curb by noon on the day immediately following the collection day.
