Marsha & Friends
Miss Marsha became the Jefferson Parish resilience mascot in 2016 with a goal of educating citizens about the natural hazards in Jefferson Parish and ways to be prepared for those hazards. Since 2016 Marsha’s reach has expanded to not only include hazard education but also education about the fisheries that are in Jefferson Parish. In 2020 our offices created an Endangered and Threatened Species assessment which led us to bringing Marsha’s four friends to life to create awareness of theses species in Jefferson Parish.
The below images, coloring pages, and activity sheets are available for download for students to enjoy Marsha and learn about our Ecosystem.
Fisheries in Jefferson Parish is an important industry, especially for residents and visitors to our Coastal communities of Barataria, Crown Point, Lafitte and Grand Isle. For more information about each of these industries please click the link below the image.
